Make a monthly donation to Action contre la Faim

It is likely to get even worse in the years to come, due to conflicts, climate change, epidemics, poverty and increasingly unequal access to drinking water …. The most effective way to help the 828 million people suffering from hunger in the world is to make a recurring donation to our association. A regular donation by direct debit allows you to make a long-term commitment to taking concrete action against world hunger and eradicating this scourge.

Why donate to Action contre la Faim?

For 40 years, Action contre la Faim has been working to detect, prevent and treat undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies. Our association sets up research projects to provide a concrete and sustainable response to hunger. And to achieve this, we need your help!

Making a monthly donation: what our donors’ regular donations are for

Making a regular donation to an association like Action contre la Faim is the most effective way of helping us carry out our actions. We’ll tell you why:

1.  Needs are constant

It’s a fact: a child dies of hunger every 13 seconds. It’s a figure and an observation that are as terrifying as they are concrete. Every day, millions of people need our help in the 50 countries where we operate. For our teams in the field, the emergency is every day.

2. You support our missions over the long term

Action contre la Faim is an association under the French law of 1901, which acts in the general interest by seeking to combat the causes of hunger. It carries out missions all over the world. It has developed and evolved its expertise in order to lead a global fight against hunger. Its expertise covers the following areas in particular:

  1. Nutrition and health.
  2. Food security and livelihoods.
  3. Water, sanitation and hygiene.
  4. Mental health, care practices, gender and protection.
  5. Advocacy.
  6. Climate.
  7. Research.

There are many ways to make a donation to Action Against Hunger, but with a regular donation, you enable us to deal with emergencies while helping us to set up longer-term projects to fight the causes of hunger. In the event of an emergency, your support is invaluable because it enables us to act quickly in the field.

3. We can anticipate better

Thanks to your monthly donations, we have greater visibility over the resources committed throughout the year. By providing us with regular resources, you enable our teams to better anticipate and undertake large-scale, more effective humanitarian missions that concretely help populations fight undernutrition.

Making a monthly donation: what are the advantages of making a regular donation?

As well as being the most effective way of helping us, making a monthly donation to Action contre la Faim also has advantages for you as a donor.

1. Benefit from a tax reduction

If you donate every month, whether via the Internet, by post, by telephone or in the street, your regular support entitles you to a tax reduction of 75% (up to a limit of €1,000, above which the reduction rises to 66%).

Let’s take a concrete example: if you donate 15 euros a month, i.e. 180 euros a year, you get a tax reduction of 135 euros (i.e. 75% of the amount donated, up to a limit of 20% of your taxable income). In the end, your donation will only cost you 45 euros a year, but will enable us to take action to the tune of 180 euros!

Did you know?

To benefit from your tax reduction, you need to enter the annual amount of your donation in boxes 7UD and 7UF of your annual tax return: in box 7UD up to a maximum of €1,000; the remainder in box 7UF. For donations over €1,000, the rate rises to 66%.

2. You receive an annual tax receipt

When you become a regular donor to Action contre la Faim, you’ll receive a tax receipt once a year, listing all the donations you’ve made during the year. It’s easier to keep track!

What’s more, you can access it at any time via your donor space.

This tax receipt does not need to be attached to your tax return, but it’s important to keep it in case of an audit.

3. You can better manage your budget

By making a monthly donation, you can more easily spread out your support for Action contre la Faim. In the event of a humanitarian crisis, we sometimes feel like taking action, but it’s not always easy to make large donations right away. With a regular donation, you can spread your contribution over the month according to your means, and support us over the long term.

Direct debit, for monthly donations

Would you like to make a monthly donation and become a regular donor? But you’re afraid you’ll forget to make your monthly donation? Here’s a good idea for regular giving: opt for direct debit. It’s a way of making a long-term commitment without having to think about it! Direct debit is simply giving Action contre la Faim authorization to debit the same amount directly from your bank account every month. How does it work? We’ll explain everything!

How do I become a regular donor?

Here’s how to easily set up your direct debit to make monthly donations to Action contre la Faim :

Our donation page

Simply go to our 100% secure donation form: all the banking information you enter is encrypted and is never stored on our computer systems.

You can choose the amount you wish to donate each month, then your method of payment:

Make a monthly donation by credit card

Fill in your credit card details (cardholder, card number, expiry date, cryptogram on the back) – Each month you will see a debit from your credit card corresponding to your regular donation to our association.

Make a monthly donation by SEPA transfer

Enter the information contained on your bank details (BIC, IBAN) – The SEPA direct debit is set up automatically – Each month you will see a SEPA debit corresponding to the regular donation for our association appear on your account statement.

Good to know about monthly donations

If you’d like to become a regular donor, here’s our little tip: opt for a SEPA direct debit rather than a credit card direct debit. Your bank changes your bank card at regular intervals, while your bank account details remain the same: a SEPA direct debit means you don’t have to update your information regularly. It’s simpler, and less burdensome!

How do I change my bank details or the amount of my monthly donation?

If you need to change your payment information, or if you wish to modify the amount of your regular donation, it’s very easy. Go to your Donor Area, log in with your login and follow the instructions. You can also contact our Donor Relations Department. Throughout your support, you’ll be able to keep control of your money with complete simplicity and peace of mind!

How do I stop a monthly donation?

You remain in control of your commitment to us. You can reduce, suspend or stop your monthly donation at any time. To do so, simply send a request to our Donor Relations Department by e-mail to service.donateurs@actioncontrelafaim.org or contact them by telephone on 01.70.84.70.84 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

What is the impact of my regular support?

By donating €15 each month to Action contre la Faim, you can save 6 children from hunger a year! This amount is equivalent to the cost of an 8-week course of nutritional paste. Your donation can save lives and help us put an end to the scourge of hunger. With a regular donation, you’ll be making a lasting contribution to those suffering from malnutrition, without even thinking about it.
